LEADER in East Lothian and Midlothian
The Tyne Esk LEADER Programme provides grants for projects that will benefit rural areas and communities in East Lothian and Midlothian. The programme will run from 2008-2013. Projects assisted will be innovative in nature and must demonstrate community support and involvement.
The programme has the overall aim of revitalising communities in our rural areas and in doing so, promoting a progressive rural economy. As of January 2011, £2,261,649 has been awarded to projects across the Tyne Esk LEADER area.
Tyne Esk LEADER Action 1 grant budget for the 2007-2013 programme is now fully committed. The Local Advisory Group has now paused the programme until additional funding become available. This means that the next LAG meeting on 6th June will not now be considering any new projects.
Tyne Esk LEADER hopes to be in a position to award a small number of grants at the following meeting of 5th September 2011, although this will be wholly dependent on the financial position at that time.
The position will be updated over the coming months.
